Nearpod Lessons for Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur

September 12, 2018The Nearpod Team

Part of having an inclusive classroom is offering opportunities that enable all students a way to participate and learn about different cultural holidays and historical events, regardless of personal traditions.

Nearpod’s holiday and events series offer teachers the tools to explore themes around holidays worldwide. Use these lessons to allow students to explore the Jewish celebrations of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur, also known as the High Holy Days. Students discover and reflect on the cultural significance of these events.

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

  • Understand and describe some general narratives and practices surrounding Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur.
  • Reflect on the religious and cultural significance of Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur communities.

These lessons are designated to promote critical inquiry around different narratives, perspectives, and practices.
