We’re inviting students to write an informational script honoring a historical figure, from the past or present, from the AAPI community. Winners will have their script turned into a Nearpod Original video!

Celebrate Asian/Pacific American Heritage Month

Elevate student voice through culturally responsive teaching and encourage students to research and write about inspiring Asian and Pacific Islander Americans.

Step 1

Use this video to learn more about the contest, provide instructions to your students, and get them excited about participating!

Step 2

After reviewing the instructions, have students choose a historical figure to write and research about.

Step 3

Once research is complete, have students write their script! Make sure an opening statement and closing question is included. Encourage them to consider reading it out loud, Just a Minute style!
