Just two years after the alarming reports<\/a> of \u201clearning loss\u201d and \u201cunfinished learning\u201d affecting a generation of students post COVID-19 school shutdowns, we were hoping to see signs of student progress. While students and educators are working diligently to recover, the NEAP\u2019s most recent data<\/a> suggests that there are concerning trends of decreased attendance, decreased reading time, and decreased enrollment in algebra. Couple those insights with the report series that Renaissance<\/a>, the parent company of Nearpod<\/a>, has shared since the fall of 2020\u2014the How Kids Are Performing <\/em>report series<\/a>\u2014and the most recent data indicates a widening, disparaging achievement gap between groups of students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Research reveals Nearpod’s positive impact on math and ELA performance<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

LearnPlatform by Instructure, a third-party edtech efficacy research company, first partnered with Nearpod in 2023 to successfully conduct an ESSA Level III study<\/a>. LearnPlatform just released a second independent study<\/a> highlighting that Nearpod has earned an ESSA Evidence Level II rating designating \u201cModerate Evidence\u201d for impacting student outcomes as shown in the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) spring tests.<\/strong> The team looked at a sample of 6,087 students from 25 schools in one California K-12 district during the 2022-2023 school year to determine the impact of Nearpod on student performance. 89% of the students were from low-income backgrounds, 20% were English language learners (ELLs), and 13% had Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
