The month was chosen to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising. While Stonewall was not the beginning of the fight for LGBTQ+ rights, the event is often considered a tipping point that helped raise awareness and galvanize people and groups to the cause.&nbsp;It began when police raided the Stonewall Inn, a gay bar in Greenwich Village, sparking days of protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For Pride Month and LGBTQ+ History Month, teachers play a pivotal role in fostering inclusive school climate where all students feel safe and supported.
